Empower your educational path!

Npowered is a comprehensive support program designed to empower students enrolled in developmental education courses to succeed at Normandale and beyond. By providing you with professional guidance, peer mentorship, and necessary tools, we help you build the foundational skills and confidence you need to achieve your academic and personal goals.

 

 Successful completion of the semester-long program earns you a $200 campus store or bookstore voucher, along with other benefits.

NPowered Program Details

To be eligible to join the NPowered Program, you must be enrolled in at least one of the following courses:

  • Integrated Reading and Writing 1 or 2
  • Any English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course
  • Any MATH 0600-level course
  • Any corequisite course

Fall 2025 participants are required to:

  • register for NCC 1000 (Paths to College Success) Section 5 (which meets Tuesdays 10:00 -10:50 am) (1 credit)
  • meet weekly with their assigned Peer Mentor (virtually or in person)
  • meet twice during the semester with their academic advisor
  • engage with other campus resources and events (tutoring sessions, workshops, mentoring sessions) at least eight times during the semester

These requirements help participants increase their academic skills and self-knowledge, learn to better navigate college, and build community and confidence.

In addition to guidance, mentorship, and community, Npowered participants receive

  • early access to Normandale’s Free Laptop program (must complete the laptop application and qualify)
  • two celebrations (Orientation and End-of-Semester) to honor your achievements
  • a $200 campus store or bookstore voucher upon successful completion of the program
  • Normandale swag
