Clubs, Activities and Leadership

Getting connected beyond the classroom is an integral part of the Normandale education experience. Studies show—and we agree—that students who get involved in campus activities and are engaged in campus life are more likely to do better academically.

BENEFITS OF JOINING A CLUB IN COLLEGE

Normandale offers many opportunities for students to build connections, gain leadership skills and have fun through clubs and activities. One of the most memorable parts of the college experience is meeting other students who share the same interest. Some of the clubs on campus include:

• Art
• Black Student Union
• Chess
• Creative writing
• Dodgeball
• Math
• Muslim Student Association
• Politics & law
• Nursing
• Volleyball

Normandale student Destiny Buhendwa discussing the benefits of his experience with community college clubs and organizations.

“ I’ve made so many connections through working here and learned so much about how colleges work. Get an on-campus job or join a club! Go to the events in the Kopp Student Center! Back in high school, I was scared to ask for help - but now I’ve learned that it’s a good thing.”
