Normandale Cares Emergency Grant

With the Normandale Cares Emergency Grant students experiencing an unexpected financial emergency that they cannot afford can apply for an up to $500 emergency grant per academic year. If you started an application in the Beam Emergency Grant platform we have closed the Beam emergency grant application for the fall 2026 semester. Please use the link above instead to apply for the emergency grant.

Students will get updated if their emergency grant was approved or denied within 1-2 business days (Monday-Friday). After applying do one of the following so you get your funding as quickly as possible if you are approved:

1. Sign up for Normandale direct deposit, if you are not already. Instruction video on how to sign up for direct deposit.
2. Make sure your mailing address is accurate in E-Services. Check your mailing address in E-Services by going to Account Management then Name and Address Info. If you need to update your address submit a Change of Information Form.

Requirements

• You must be a student currently taking classes at Normandale to qualify.
• Students are eligible for a maximum of one $500 emergency grant each academic year (fall through summer). 
• Funding is not granted to cover tuition, fees, textbooks, or course materials as these are not considered unexpected expenses.
• Awards are based on availability of funding, while funding lasts.
• If you are taking courses at multiple colleges or universities, you should request funding through your home school (the school where you get your financial aid from). 
• PSEO students are not eligible to receive Normandale Cares grant funding. If you are a PSEO student in need of basic needs support contact the Student Resource Center.
• Sirtify and SpedUP program participants are not eligible for the Normandale Cares Grant as these programs has emergency grant funds available for current participants. Reach out to your Sirtify or SpedUP program coordinator for details.
