Normandale Cares Emergency Grant

The Normandale Cares Emergency Grant allows students who are experiencing an unexpected financial emergency that they cannot afford to apply for an up to $500 emergency grant per academic year, to allow them to focus on their academic goals. Normandale Cares Emergency Grant Application: Summer 2026 Students

*Some students are currently experiencing issues submitting a Normandale Cares Emergency Grant application. If you are unable to submit a grant application please email NormandaleCares@normandale.edu from your student email. Include: your first and last name, StarID or student ID number, at least a few sentences about why you need an emergency grant, and how receiving the emergency grant will help you. 

The emergency grant application will be closed the end of the summer semester (Fri. Aug. 7th until Wed. Sept. 9th). The Fall 2026 Normandale Cares Emergency Grant Application will open on Wed. Sept. 9th, 2026. If you need basic needs support while the emergency grant application is closed please reach out to the Student Resource Center, StudentResourceCenter@normandale.edu. 

Requirements

• You must be a student currently taking classes at Normandale to qualify.
• Students are eligible for a maximum of one $500 emergency grant each academic year (fall through summer). 
• Funding is not granted to cover tuition, fees, textbooks, or course materials as these are not considered unexpected expenses.
• Awards are based on availability of funding, while funding lasts.
• If you are taking courses at multiple colleges or universities, you should request funding through your home school (the school where you get your financial aid from). 
• PSEO students are not eligible to receive Normandale Cares grant funding. If you are a PSEO student in need of basic needs support contact the Student Resource Center.
• Sirtify and SpedUP program participants are not eligible for the Normandale Cares Grant as these programs has emergency grant funds available for current participants. Reach out to the relevant Sirtify or SpedUP program coordinator for details. 
• If approved for an emergency grant students typically receive their funds within 3 business days.
