Lab Course Information

Spring 2026

Students enrolled in fully online lab courses are required to rent a lab kit through the bookstore.

Spring 2026 Lab Kit Instructions

 Step 1: Place Your Web Order

Order your lab kit online through How to Place a Web Order. Once your order is processed, you will receive a second confirmation email with the subject line “Order Number: XXXX Pickup Confirmation”. Print a copy of the email or pull it up on your phone. If you need assistance with printing, please see the Information Booth at the Kopp Center.

Step 2: Pick Up Your Lab Kit

Bring both of the following to the Chemistry Prep Room (S 2373) to collect your kit:

  • Your Pickup confirmation email
  • Your Normandale student ID card

🔹 Replacement Parts

If you need to replace any missing, broken, or used components, bring your Normandale student ID to verify your original purchase.

Step 3:  Returning Labkit Material

Your lab kit includes a checklist. Items marked “RETURN – HIGHLIGHTED items in the bin” must be returned a week after the last day of finals.

  • Failure to return required items on time will result in a fee charged to your student account.
  • Return location: Please check your email about rental return times and location.

One week before the semester begins:

Fri Jan 9           8 am- 6 pm

Weekend:
Saturday Jan 10 – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Mon Jan 12     8am – 6pm
Tues Jan 13    8am – 6pm
Wed Jan 14   8am – 6pm
Thurs Jan 15   8am – 6pm
Fri  Jan 16       8am – 6pm

Weekend:
Saturday Jan 17 – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Week Two of the semester:
Mon Jan 19    CLOSED
Tues Jan 20     8am – 6pm
Wed   Jan 21  8am – 6pm
Thurs Jan 22   8am – 6pm
Fri Jan 23     8am – 6pm

When picking up a lab kit, please plan to spend 5-10 minutes reviewing the kit contents.

If a student is unable to come to campus, their lab kit can be mailed to a street address in the lower forty-eight United States. Lab kits cannot be mailed to post office boxes, to Alaska or Hawaii, or to locations outside the United States.   For full semester courses students should contact their instructor no later than the first day of class to request a mailed lab kit.
