Npact is a year-long, peer-to-peer mentoring program where our first-year students learn from the guidance and experience of upper-level students who have successfully navigated their first year at Normandale.  

Peer mentoring relationships help new students start strong and make progress towards their academic goals and extracurricular involvement at the college. Participation in the program is designed to positively impact a students’ sense of belonging on their path toward academic and career success.

Npact is open to all current first year students at Normandale. Students are matched with an upper-level student mentor based on common interests, background, academic and professional aspirations. 

What types of things do mentors and mentees discuss?

• Navigating campus resources and services
• Balancing the demands of school, home, work and social life
• How to set yourself up for academic, social and career success
• Finding support and guidance when challenges and issues arise.

Interested in finding a mentor who can help you navigate the big stuff and the small stuff? To get started, students must complete an online application to determine preferences.

Expectations:

• Space in Npact is limited so being committed to actively and consistently participating as a mentee for the full year is crucial
• Connect with your peer mentor on a regular basis in person, email, etc. around your class schedule and other obligations
