Health Sciences Broad Field

When you study health science at Normandale, you’ll cover a broad range of health, science and liberal arts courses.  

This foundation of core courses and electives will help you learn more about what areas of health care you are passionate about. The health science associate’s degree serves as a launchpad to a variety of health care-related educational opportunities and careers.  

Once you complete your two-year associate’s degree, you’ll be ready for your next step – pursuing your bachelor’s degree at one of seven Minnesota State colleges. 

Where Will Health Science Broad Field Take You?

With a health science degree, you’ll have a lot of options for your career path. Students enrolled in the Health Sciences Broad Field (AS) degree will acquire all of the skills and knowledge needed to provide a smooth transition into health-related programs such as:​​​

  • Healthcare System Technology

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in healthcare occupations is projected to grow 16 percent through 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations, adding about 2.6 million new jobs.
