Note: Due to Minnesota law, textbooks and materials must be returned. These items become the property of Normandale upon completion of the course. Unreturned textbooks are charged to the student. See more about textbooks and course materials.
PSEO students are not eligible for financial aid.
PSEO students can take most courses offered at Normandale in fall and spring semesters, with a few exceptions. Tenth-grade students are admitted under the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. CTE students are limited to one course from an approved list in their first semester. All PSEO students should work closely with their PSEO advisor and high school counselor when selecting courses.
All study abroad courses and courses involving overnight travel;
10th grade students are admitted as Career and Technical Education (CTE) students.
Normandale and Minnesota State policy limit the number of college credits that any student can enroll in each term. During fall and spring semesters, students may register for up to 18 credits. Registration for 19 or more credits requires written approval from an academic advisor or counselor. Minnesota State restricts students to a maximum term enrollment of 22 credits System-wide.
Students planning to participate in both PSEO and Concurrent Enrollment, and/or PSEO at multiple institutions, are responsible for ensuring they are complying with credit limits. Failure to comply will impact registration.

Concurrent Enrollment at Normandale allows high school students to take college-level courses at their high school, taught by qualified high school instructors in partnership with Normandale faculty. Normandale’s Tutoring & Writing Center is a free resource available to all PSEO students. Students can receive one-on-one or small group support in a variety of subjects, including writing, math, science, and more. In addition, the center offers PASS (Peer Assisted Study Session) for specific courses and provides access to Study Tools & Technology resources such as calculators and navigating Normandale’s educational technologies. Normandale Community College’s Summer High School Enrollment Program (SHEP) allows Minnesota high school students to take college courses during the summer. This program offers a great opportunity to earn college credits early, experience college-level learning, and get ahead academically.
However, unlike fall and spring PSEO courses, summer classes are not covered by Minnesota’s PSEO program, so students are responsible for tuition, fees, textbooks, and materials.
