Normandale Community College’s first day of classes started on Monday, August 24.
The Welcome Week festivities kicked off on August 24 with Pizza with President Pakou Yang and Student Leaders Open House, and continues on Tuesday, August 25 from 11 am to 1 p.m. with a Vision Board for students creating a joint mural of what they want to do before they graduate. There will also Snacks from 4-6 p.m. in the College Services area.
Other events this week include:
- Sequins and Snacks, August 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Overlook in Kopp Student Center
- A Student Resource Center Open House, August 26 from 1-3 p.m. in the Student Resource Center (Activities Building A 1565A)
- Paint a Mug with Student Life and Tutoring Resources, August 27 from 1-3 p.m. in the Tutoring Center (C 2190)
Welcome Week will also extend in the second week of classed with the following events:
- Wellness/Rec Center – Pop Into the Fitness Center, August 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Fitness Center (A 1500)
- Ice Cream Social with Student Life and Peer Mentor Program, September 1 from 12-1 p.m. in the Overlook in Kopp Student Center
- Phi Theta Kappa Campus Clean Up, September 1 from 3:15 to 5 p.m., Meet in the Kopp Student Center Lobby)
- Involvement Fair, September 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Gymnasium
- Karaoke, September 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Overlook in Kopp Student Center
