Jane Fenton Named Executive Director of Normandale Foundation

Normandale Community College announces the appointment of Jane Fenton as the Normandale Community College Foundation's Executive Director.

In this role, Fenton will oversee Normandale's 501(c)(3) Foundation which raises funds for scholarships, programs, departments, emergency grants for students, and many other areas of the college

"Jane (Fenton) has been an important part of the growth and success of the Normandale Foundation," said Normandale Community College President Joyce Ester. "She brings a wealth of fundraising experience, community connections and knowledge of Normandale to this position. We are excited about the future of the Foundation under her leadership."

Fenton has served as the Normandale Foundation's Associate Executive Director the past two-and-a-half years, helping to lead the Foundation through a period of time where Campus Cupboard, technology resources, emergency grants and scholarship funds were crucial in the college's efforts to keeping students on track to persist, succeed and graduate during the pandemic.

During that time, the Foundation has focused on ending student hunger, developing a mentor program for Normandale students, raising funds for Normandale's Sirtify Program that recruits and supports Black, African American, and African men into Elementary and Secondary Education pathways, and continuing to raise funds for emergency student aid, and scholarships. Last year, Normandale provided $774,749 in scholarship for students, program and project support.

Prior to being named Associate Executive Director in March 2020, Fenton had served as the Director of Development and Major Gifts Office in the Foundation.

"I am excited and honored to become the new Executive Director for the Normandale Foundation," said Fenton. "There is much to be done, but I am surrounded by support staff, Board, colleagues and donors who make it all possible. I look forward to a future for Normandale students where former obstacles have been erased, and their way forward is clear."

Fenton has more than 20 years of non-profit leadership, donor development, and fundraising experience. Before joining Normandale, Fenton was a Community Relations Specialist at Hospice Advantage LLC and a Director of Community Relations at Laura Baker Services Association.

Fenton earned her bachelor's degree at Carleton College, is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and is currently part of the Luoma Leadership Academy through Minnesota State.
