Normandale Department of Theatre Receives KCACTF National Awards

Watch Part 1 and Part 2 of in the virtual production of In This Together

The Normandale Community College Department of Theatre received four national awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF).  

Normandale student Vonny Wilborn was one of 26 students in the nation to receive the Special Achievement in Performance Award. Wilborn received the honors for her performance in the virtual production of In This Together that Normandale performance on October 23-24, 2020.  

The Department of Theatre's production of In this Together also was one of 28 productions to receive the Kennedy Center Artist Award. With this award, KCACTF recognized programs in higher education using theatrical production to promote long-term societal impact through an artistic lens, to encourage empathetic exploration of the complex cultural and physical world, and to advocate for justice on campus and throughout the world.  

Normandale's virtual performance of In this Together was also one of seven productions to receive a Special Achievement in Company Generated Work national award, and one of 26 to be honored with a Special Achievement in Ensemble Collaboration - Performance and Production honor.
