Normandale Community College welcomes writer Peter Geye, past winner of the Minnesota Book Award and author of six novels, to give a keynote talk as part of the 15th annual Normandale Writing Festival on Wednesday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Writing Festival is cross-curricular, including professional, literary, and creative modes of writing. The free daylong event features hourly presentations between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. around campus. You can find the full schedule of the day's sessions by visiting the Festival Program Guide. Peter's keynote address will take place at 12 p.m. in the Kopp Student Center Garden Room.
Peter’s latest book launch is the day before the festival! His new novel, A Lesser Light, is set on Lake Superior in 1910. A Lesser Light time-travels to 1910 Lake Superior, where the new lighthouse station's forbidding keeper and his brilliant, disenchanted wife collide with their secrets and struggle to face the future.
Normandale instructors and published authors will be featured during the Writing Festival, as they conduct hourly sessions during the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. timeframe.
