UPDATE: May 12, 2020 at 6:45 p.m.

Normandale Community College has undertaken a project to extend the campus WiFi network out into parking lots 1 and 2. As a first step, WiFi access is now available in the parking spots closest to the front of the College Services building. Network access will be extended out further into those parking lots as the project progresses.

Your cell phone may also be a source of WiFi. Most cellular phone services have enabled free hotspot service on smartphones in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please see our technology article, Cell Phones as Hotspots, for more information. Xfinity has extended free and open access to their WiFi hotspots until the end of June. You can use their Xfinity WiFI Hotspot finder to find one near you.

Amid the COVID-19 epidemic, students are encouraged to sign up for Direct Deposit immediately. Without direct deposit, they could face delays in receiving refunds, grant funds, and paychecks for student employment.

These payments will mirror the normal student refund check process. It is important that all student home addresses and direct deposit information is updated. If any updates are needed to personal information or banking information, please go to the Direct Deposit link for instructions. Changes to bank information requires 24 hours to process.

The Pass/No Credit grading method is available for any Spring 2020 class. Before you choose this option, review the Updated Academic Information During COVID-19 to ensure you fully understand the implications. Make the selection using the Grade Method Change eForm.

UPDATE: May 1, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.

Reminder: The original deadline to withdraw from a full-term spring course was April 21, 2020 (or 80% completion of the semester). This deadline has been pushed back to May 4, 2020 (90% of the term) to give students more time to decide if they can complete the course. 

For spring 2020, withdrawals that occurred on or after March 12, 2020 and all grades of Incomplete will be excluded from the calculation of satisfactory academic progress. Please refer to the Normandale Updated Academic Information During COVID-19 for more information.
