Normandale Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Receives Eight Awards at Regional Convention

Normandale Community College's Phi Theta Kappa chapter received eight awards at the Minn-Kota Regional Convention held on February 27-28, 2015.

Normandale's chapter was second runner-up for the Distinguished Chapter Award, and won awards for its Chapter Officer Team, its Theme Seven Honors in Action project, and claimed the Yearbook award. The overall chapter was also first runner-Up.

The Chapter Office Team for Normandale's chapter consisted of Danielle Maeser, Nicole Maeser, Jessica Makori, Sara McAtee, Diana Mungu, Tom Rivard, Dan Runningen, Sasha Stein, and Tyler Westland.

Normandale's Theme Seven Honors in Action project area of focus was Health and Medicine as Frontiers. As part of the project, the chapter invited NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) to campus to talk about the stigma of mental illnesses.

Makori also received also received an award for top Chapter Officer, and was a first runner-up for Chapter Member. Westlund was a first runner-up Chapter Officer.
