Summer High School Enrollment
The Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) Program is not available during summer sessions. However, summer enrollment is available for those high school students going into the 11th and 12th grade in the fall term, and wish to take classes during the summer months. The Minnesota Department of Education does not fund the courses taken through the Summer High School Enrollment Program; therefore, tuition, fees and books are the student's responsibility.
Note: Summer session classes are accelerated. The same amount of curriculum that is covered in the 15 week semester is often covered in 5-7 weeks during the summer session. A student spends much more time in class each day and, therefore, needs to allow for additional study time as well. Some summer session classes may begin before the high school term has ended. Students are expected to attend their classes at the college.
Individuals interested in applying for the Summer High School Enrollment Program should contact the Normandale Admissions Office at 952-358-8208. Current Normandale PSEO students who want to take classes during the summer between 11th and 12th grade can proceed with registration and do not need to apply for the Summer High School Enrollment program. Current PSEO students who are in 12th grade and graduating at the end of spring term should apply for general undergraduate admission, not the Summer High School Enrollment program.

- The SHEP application form or SHEP application form (fillable PDF) along with the $20 application fee (temporarily waived due to COVID)
- An official high school transcript
- The SHEP Acknowledgement Form or SHEP Acknowledgement Form (fillable PDF) signed by the parent or guardian

Summer High School Enrollment applicants need to meet any required prerequisite courses or placement levels prior to registration. Reading, English, math and certain other courses may require placement testing. Individuals interested in possible waivers from placement testing should submit ACT, SAT, Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or ACCUPLACER scores to the Office of Admissions at the time they apply for admission.
Applicants are accepted to the summer program only and are not considered students in the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program nor admitted general enrollment students at Normandale Community College. Students wishing to participate in the PSEO program during fall and spring terms will need to apply to this program, meet the eligibility requirements, submit a Minnesota Department of Education Notice of Registration form and attend a PSEO Advising and Registration session.
Students who wish to continue their college education at Normandale after their high school graduation do not need to reapply but must notify the Office of Admissions to update their student status.
