Non-Minnesota State Students

Register to attend Normandale as a non-degree seeking student – we’d love to have you join us!

Non-degree seeking students (also known as visiting students) take classes without the intent of completing a degree or certificate. With this option, you can expand your knowledge and experience or take classes to transfer back to your current college or university.

Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid or veteran's benefits but do have access to campus services. Payment plan options are available.

Who is a non-degree seeking student?

If you're a student at the University of Minnesota, a private college or university, or an out-of-state institution, and you want to take a course or two at Normandale Community College without pursuing a degree, you are a non-degree seeking student.

If you're currently enrolled at another Minnesota State institution, no need to submit an admissions application, go right ahead and register for courses.

As a Normandale non-degree seeking student, you can use your time here to meet prerequisites for graduate studies, enhance your job skills or explore an area of interest. Pick up a few classes at Normandale while you’re enrolled at another college or university.
