Off-campus access to electronic databases is restricted by contract to certain users only. To use the products from off campus you must be:

  • a Normandale student, faculty, or staff member
  • who is currently registered at the library, and
  • who has an active Library card.

You must have an active Normandale Library card in order to access subscription databases from off campus.

How to Access Databases:
To access databases from off campus using LibProxy, simply select the full text database you want to search from the Normandale Library webpages. Note: Cookies must be enabled on your browser.

Completing the "Library Authentication Login Form"

Problems With Off Campus (LibProxy) Access:
1. In order for LIBPROXY to work properly, you must have "cookies enabled" on your browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, etc.) Most browsers are configured to accept cookies by default and no action is required. If your cookies are not enabled, please enable cookies. Problems enabling cookies, contact Carol Johnson at (952) 487-8290 or Carol.Johnson@normandale.edu.
2. America Online (AOL) Users may encounter some problems. If you experience problems while using AOL, see Using AOL instructions.
3. Libproxy will not work if you try to access the sites from a location with a institutional firewall (such as from your place of employment). The product will work on your home computer if you use a personal firewall product (i.e. MacAfee or Symantiec), but you may have to change the security level.
If you experience difficulties in authentication or using LIBPROXY, please contact Carol Johnson at (952) 487-8290 or Carol.Johnson@normandale.edu.
