Normandale's partnerships with universities allow students to obtain a Bachelors or Masters degree on the Normandale campus. As a partnership student, you can use most of the library services at both Normandale and your university.

Library Services Provided by Normandale

Physical Materials

You can use any of the physical materials in the Library -- the books, magazines, newspapers, CDs, course reserves, and microfilm. You can borrow items using your Partnership ID card, which has both the Normandale logo and your university's logo.

Online Materials (Databases)

Only students enrolled in Normandale classes can access the Library's digital collections and databases. Partnership students should use their university library's online materials: MSU-Mankato's databases, Metropolitan State's databases, or Southwest Minnesota State's databases.

Borrowing Materials from Other Libraries

Need a book that the Normandale Library doesn't own? Or need an article that your university library doesn't have access to? You can request books and articles be sent to you from other libraries including your university's library. Request interlibrary loan services by filling out a book or article request form from your library account. Use your StarID to log in and select Normandale as the institution to handle your request.

You will be notified when the item you requested is available. (See Library Notifications below.)

Research Assistance (Reference Services)

The Normandale librarians are happy to help you start your research and answer your questions. For in-depth research questions we may refer you to the librarians at your University. You may also contact your university's librarians directly: MSU-Mankato Library, Metropolitan State University Library, Southwest Minnesota State University Library.

Library Notifications

The Normandale Library sends reminders, overdue notices, and interlibrary loan notices to the email address we have on file for you. If you were previously (or are currently) a Normandale student, we will send notices to your Normandale email account by default. To update your email address with us, please speak to someone at the Circulation Desk.

Library Services Provided by Your University

Physical Materials

You can use the physical materials (books, journals, etc.) of your university library. To request that something from your university library be sent to you, submit an interlibrary loan request form from your library account. Use your StarID to log in and select Normandale as the institution to handle your request. You will be notified when the item you requested is available. (See Library Notifications above.)

Online Materials (Databases)

Your university library has many research databases for you to use, selected specifically to meet your academic needs. To connect to the online databases your university offers, go to MSU-Mankato's databases, Metropolitan State's databases, or Southwest Minnesota State's databases. You will be required to log in using your StarID and password to access your university library's databases.

Research Assistance (Reference Services)

The librarians at your university specialize in assisting upper-level students in your degree area. For in-depth research assistance please contact your university librarians: MSU-Mankato Library, Metropolitan State University Library, Southwest Minnesota State University Library.
