Accessing the Library's databases from home is simple.

Who can access the article and research databases from off campus?
Off campus access to the library's databases is available only to currently enrolled Normandale students, faculty and staff.
|
What you need
You will need a student ID Card (NCC Card) that has a barcode number on the back. The barcode number must be activated by the library in order to access databases from off campus. To activate the barcode, stop by the Circulation desk or call: 952.487.8290.

How to access the article and research databases
Simply go to the Articles & Databases link as you would in the library. When you click on a database link, the proxy server will ask you for your barcode and password (your last name). That’s it.
|
Frequently asked questions
- My barcode and password don’t work.
Make sure you are using your barcode (20205……) and password (last name) -- not your tech ID number, social security number, or PIN.
- I keep getting a “page cannot be displayed” or “page cannot be found” error.
This usually happens when you are trying to access the research databases from your work or another place where they have a firewall that is blocking access to the proxy server.
If you are trying to access the databases from home, this message can mean that your browser security settings are too high or you have a personal firewall blocking access.
