You will need to activate the library barcode on you NCC photo ID card in order to check out all materials, including items put on reserve by your teacher, and to access databases from off campus.
Here are the steps needed to obtain and activate your Normandale Library barcode.
Students:
- Obtain your NCC photo ID - located outside of the Financial AID office.
- Come to the NCC Library.
- Present your Normandale photo ID card at the Circulation Desk.
- Card is valid as long as you are enrolled as a student at NCC.
- Card may be converted to a Community Patron card after leaving NCC.
- Lost cards. Obtain a replacement card ($20.00) from from Photo ID station (outside of Financial Aid office). Note: you must first pay your $20.00 fee in the business office and must bring your receipt to the Photo ID station.

Faculty & Staff:
- Obtain your NCC photo ID - located outside of the Financial AID office.
- Come to the NCC Library.
- Present your Normandale photo ID card at the Circulation Desk.
- Card is valid as long as you are employed as a faculty/staff/administrator at NCC.
- In some instances, card may be converted to a Retired Faculty/Staff card after leaving NCC.
- Lost cards. Obtain a replacement card ($20.00) from from Photo ID station (outside of Financial Aid office). Note: you must first pay your $20.00 fee in the business office and must bring your receipt to the Photo ID station.

Community Patrons:
- Come to the NCC Library.
- Present driver's license or state issues photo ID at the Circulation Desk.
- Provide staff with Social Security Number.
- Cards are go for 1 year. Card may be renewed.
- Lost cards. No charge for first replacement. All subsequent replacements are $5.00 each.
- Off campus database access NOT available.
