This position will provide delivery of direct support services to students participating in the federally funded Student Support Service Grant program. This Coordinator/Advisor has line responsibility to the Project Director of the Student Support Service Grant Program.
Position Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and monitor transfer initiative activities for eligible program students targeted for the transfer initiative.

Implement necessary academic skill support service activities necessary to enhance program participant retention and academic success.

Maintain documentation of program and participant files and activities.

Implement Book Look Program, Emergency Loan, and the SSS Supplemental Grant Program.

Select and recruit eligible (as determined by established federal guidelines) students for participation in the Student Support Service Grant Program.

Participate as a member of the Student Support Services Grant Team.
Required Qualifications:

1. Provide leadership for the provision of high quality student services throughout the Student Affairs Department

2. Provide leadership for Student Affairs in college-wide activities and initiatives.

Work collaboratively with other Deans, Vice Presidents and other college constituencies to develop and implement the planning functions of the college, which respond to the college's strategic goals, system goals, as well as divisional goals. This includes identifying unmet needs and supporting the advancement of initiatives addressing such needs; seeking broad input to identify and articulate the institution's future and mission; assessing future needs; assisting in the development of enrollment goals and other priorities.

Participate in the budget process for the college.

Serve on the Student Life Budget committee and serve as its advisor and administrative representative.

Develop, recommend, administer, and assess, as needed, college policies, regulations, procedures, and practices for effectiveness and compliance with federal, state and system regulations, directives and guidelines.

Serving as a student advocate through the development of activities that contribute to student success and by dealing appropriately with student concerns and problems.

Identify critical issues, develop background information, collect and analyze data, prepare position statements, and report on special projects as needed.

3. Provide administrative and technical expertise in providing student services and carrying out educational mandates.

Direct and advance the Student Life program through the establishment, development and promotion of co-curricular activities, programs and services including the Office for Students with Disabilities program, the center for Service Learning, the Child Care program, the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office and the Early Warning System intervention program, and other programs that report to this office.

Assist the Vice President of Student Affairs by providing administrative services, information and support to students as well contributing to Student Affairs decisions and operations.

Provide leadership and support in the development of intervention programs and services, including academic probation and suspension.

Adjudicate student behavioral concerns; develop policies and procedures; serve as Administrative Hearing Officer; and, train and advise Student Rights and Responsibilities Board process.

Serve as resource for Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) questions.

Plan, direct and administer Student Life budget including training the Student Life Budget Committee (SLBC) and serving as advisor.

Review and evaluate Student Life and Counseling and Student Development programs, activities and services.

Chair the ADA Committee to represent students' needs and to provide educational programs on Disability Awareness.

Serve as administrator for the Child Care Center program, services and activities, including chairing the Parents' Council, and Staff Evacuation Assistants group.

Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to manage the department's personnel supervision, to provide leadership for the functions of the department, to provide management and expertise for the information system modules supporting these functions as well serving as the department's webmaster. The position supervises the training and work of department employees. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, a minimum of five years experience in student financial aid, leadership and expertise in higher education operations.

Specific administrative and professional skills required include: process planning; policy development; staff supervision; budget management; interpersonal and public communications; writing and editing; team building; information system management and web site development.

Requires extensive day to day in person contact with students, other institutional personnel, the public at large, and other agencies.

Requires a close and cordial working relationship with other student affairs areas such as counseling, administration, records, admissions, business office, and human resources is essential.

Work as a team member and must maintain working relationships with representatives of the U.S. Department of Education, the MN Higher Education Services Office, our lending partners and other outside organizations.

Extensive knowledge of financial aid programs and experience in the administration of those aid programs is essential; the ability to further develop this knowledge is critical.

Ability to interpret, understand, and explain extremely complex State and Federal regulations governing the financial aid programs.

This position exists to provide administrative management and leadership for the Division of Health Sciences, which includes the departments of Dental Hygiene, Health/Exercise Science/Dietetic Technology, Nursing, and Radiologic Technology.
Position Responsibilities:
A. Division of Health Sciences
1. Facilitate and advocate for the development of the academic programs of the Division of Health Sciences.
2. Facilitate the development and implementation of academic program review and assessment in the division.
3. Recruit full-time and part-time faculty and contribute to the college's diversity goals; recommend to the Vice President of Academic Affairs candidates for full-time and temporary faculty positions.
4. Coordinate the development of academic course offerings and semester schedules for the division.
5. Coordinate divisional academic policy review, the academic appeals process, and grade appeals; hear and act on students' requests related to academic areas of the division.
6. Coordinate divisional instructional equipment and technology acquisition; advocate for and assist the division in using new technologies to improve instruction.
7. Coordinate divisional faculty and staff office assignments.
8. Identify grant opportunities for divisional programs; develop grant proposals and monitor and coordinate grant activities.
9. Facilitate the development of academic program and divisional budgets/allocations and approve expenditures as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a health sciences-related discipline.
- At least three years of higher education teaching experience in a health sciences related field.
- The position of Dean of Health Sciences requires a high level of leadership and management skills. The Dean must be able to build an academic division that is founded on communication and collaboration. The Dean will support and empower the work of the faculty, staff, and students of the Division of Health Sciences in light of the mission and strategic plans of the college and MnSCU.
- The position further requires thorough understanding of post-secondary education as well as a broad understanding of the academic disciplines represented in the division. The Dean must be able to identify and address problems and participate effectively in short and long range planning.
- The Dean must possess: excellent communication skills; the ability to manage change and conflict; knowledge of and respect for collective bargaining agreements; and the ability to respond well to diversity. The Dean must also support the use of instructional technology, respond creatively to new issues, and exhibit the spirit of entrepreneurship in the work of the division and the college.
- The position requires the ability to establish and maintain productive, collegial and professional working relationships with the college community and the college partners in the service area. It is necessary that the Dean possess a thorough understanding and appreciation of the collective bargaining process and skill in the administration of employment contracts.
