Music

The Music department offers the complete first two years of a music major curriculum. Students may transfer as third year Music students in Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Music Education degree programs.

The student may select one of two degrees in Music, the AA with Music Emphasis, or the AFA in Music. Careers related to this major include Music Teaching, Music Therapy, Performance, Composition, Conducting, Church Music and Music Business.

Program Accreditation


Normandale Community College is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), the national accrediting agency for music and music-related disciplines. NASM is an association of approximately 630 schools of music, primarily at the collegiate level.
