Online Training Opportunities
Minnesota Online Quality Initiative (MOQI) Webinars
This is the MN State-specific coordinative group for Quality Matters: http://minnesota.qualitymatters.org/. You'll be asked to register, and provide a password. The MOQI website has other information that is specific to Minnesota's implementation of the national QM organization.
The webinars are a new faculty resource starting last fall, and MOQI publishes a semester calendar of webinars. They generally last an hour, and provide links to resources used during the webinar for faculty use. The calendar of current webinars and the registration system are available here: http://www.eventbrite.com/o/minnesota-online-quality-initiative-7290950883
D2L Brightspace (the company) has training options. They produce webinars that are also listed in the same calendar as the MOQI/SIG series, are free, and can be registered for via the same registration tool (See link, above). They are now providing webinars on more advanced D2L topics, such as rubrics, competencies, and intelligent agents.
Brightspace Community Site: https://community.brightspace.com/ . This is D2L's site, which contains a lot of information of varying kinds. On the home page, you'll see "Featured Videos". Below that, there's an option, "View All Videos". Click on that, then click on the "Instructors" tab. You'll see hundreds of videos covering any subject you might want to learn about.
D2L also has live webinars, often posted on the MOQI website, but not always. Go to: www.brightspace.com/events/webinars/ for a list of all the webinars. These are not necessarily D2L Brightspace related, but include webinars on adult learning theory, alignment of learning outcomes, etc.
