Be Your Best Self Staff Development Conference
Tuesday, March 8, 8am-4pm | Keynote Speaker Liz Nead: 9am, Lorenz Auditorium
FOR FACULTY AND STAFF ONLY. Explore the concept of Active Leadership and hear lessons learned by our Keynote Speaker Liz Nead, a former community college student, during her adventure summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro.
 
Additional sessions to choose from throughout the day. Light breakfast served at 8am, Fine Arts Foyer. 
Lunch provided at 12 noon, Garden Room - Kopp Student Center.

Normandale Art Department presents
South Suburban High School Conference Art Exhibit and Award Ceremony
Tuesday, March 8, 6-8pm, Lorenz Auditorium and Fine Arts Gallery - Fine Arts Bldg.
Join us for an exhibit and award ceremony showcasing the following South Suburban Conference high schools: The School of Environmental Studies, Apple Valley, Bloomington Jefferson, Bloomington Kennedy, Burnsville, Eagan, Eastview, Lakeville North, Lakeville South, Prior Lake and Rosemount. Each school will display up to 10 pieces of artwork that represent the best from their art programs. One Normandale award of Excellence,
15 awards of Merit and 5 awards of Excellence will be chosen from the entire show. Juror is Lazare Rottach, Normandale ceramics instructor. The Normandale Art Department is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Bridge to the Ballot - Teaching the Selma-to-Montgomery Legacy and the Voting Rights Act of 1965

Panel Guests: Dr. Artika Tyner, Professor, St. Thomas University; Susan Sheridan Tucker, Executive Director, League of Women Voters Minnesota

Attend a film screening and panel discussion with our very own Dr. Joyce Ester. This film tells the story of the courageous students, teachers and activists who led the nonviolent fight to win voting rights for African Americans in the South - one of the most significant victories in the civil rights era. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations requested.
