Student Blog: Open House for Student Resource Center

By Student Blog by Chris Hall - Media and Public Relations Intern

This afternoon I stopped by the Activities Building for the Student Resource Center Open House. The Student Resource Center is a new service for Normandale students this year, with their grand opening event being held on September 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Inside the center, the staff was giving away free school supplies and I had a chance to talk about the different resources they have available for students. The Student Resource Center, located in the Activities Building in Room A 2530, strives to create a strong support network for students, helping them minimize barriers, meet their needs, and attain their goals.

The offers a wide range of resources including connections to career advancement, clothing, food, and healthcare. They also work with outside organizations to host events such as health insurance enrollment and mobile food pantries. Some events are reoccurring so be sure to stop by and pick up a calendar or learn more the Student Resource Center web page.
