Normandale Service Learning Team to receive Avivo Champion Award

The Normandale Community College Service Learning team will be one of four organizations to receive a Champion Award on Thursday, February 28 as part of the Avivo Night of Champions event.

The Night of Champions is the organization's annual event to honor champions who maximize and celebrate Avivo's mission and to support Avivo so that everyone has the chance to live well and work well.

Normandale's College Service Learning Team is being honored along with BATC-Housing First Minnesota Foundation, Bremer Bank and Marsden. The event takes place at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, will be hosted by emcee Reg Chapman, from WCCO-TV, and will feature a performance by zAmya Theater.

Avivo specializes in helping individuals and their families who face complex barriers to success - poverty, homelessness, unemployment, chemical addiction or mental concerns. The organization has served Minnesota since 1960 and helps more than 18,000 people each year achieve recovery, employment, and economic advancement.
