Normandale Community College History Instructor Jack Norton received the Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction Recognition from the American Association of Community Colleges.

Norton was one of 58 instructors from 24 different states to receive the award. He was also one of two instructors in Minnesota and one of three history instructors to claim the honors.

Recipients for the award demonstrated passion for the students and the classroom, showed a willingness to support students inside and outside of the classroom, were inclined to participate in college committees and go above and beyond what is required to ensure that students are successful in their academic endeavors.

The award recognizes individuals making a difference in the classroom, and is named in honor of former AACC President and CEO Dale P. Parnell.
