Community Crime Prevention

This course emphasizes the essential relationship between citizens and police.  The course will focus on how both groups can work together to provide safer environments for our communities.  This course includes an overview of crime causation theories, history of crime prevention, techniques and terminology of crime prevention, crime analysis, and the reduction of risks through controlling elements within our surroundings.  Topics covered in this course meet specific POST learning objectives for pre-service law enforcement students and will permit studetns to take the MCPA Crime Prevention Specialist exam.
