Annual Fund

The Normandale Annual Fund strengthens 39 programs and departments through funding for operations, scholarships, and special program support. This money helps bridge the gap between the cost of educating students and diminishing state support.

Through the Annual Fund, alumni and friends of Normandale are asked to make repeatable, sustainable, yearly gifts at whatever level is appropriate for each individual donor. These tax-deductible donations may be unrestricted (financial resources are directed to the areas of greatest need) or may be designated for a purpose such as scholarships or a particular program specified by the donor.

You can double or triple your gift through a corporate matching gift program with your employer. Check with your employer's human resources department to learn whether your employer offers matching gifts.

Unrestricted Gifts

Unrestricted gifts provide Normandale Community College the flexibility to direct financial resources to the areas of greatest need. Unrestricted gifts can be designated for general college use, or for a specific program or project. Some fulfill needs that arise quickly and urgently; others are used to strengthen ongoing student or faculty programs; all serve to advance the college's educational mission.

These funds might pay for student projects, scholarships, awards, faculty support for course development, funding for student organizations and publications, support for student and faculty participation in scholarly conferences, operating expenses, equipment and software purchases, and library acquisitions.

Scholarships

Scholarships are a core element of our philanthropic mission. Scholarships enable students who might not otherwise be able to begin or continue their higher education journey to enroll and succeed at Normandale. Many of our scholarship recipients come from communities of color, other countries, and families in which they are the first generation to attend college. All are deserving in terms of need and achievement. Scholarship awards generally range from $750 to $2,000. Many annual scholarships are named in honor of donors or those they honor with their gift.

Scholarship donors receive an invitation to our annual Scholarship Recognition Reception. This is an event that connects scholarship recipients with their respective donors. Students and donors alike find the event to be immensely rewarding. The stories are inspiring and sometimes there's not a dry eye in the house!

Giving Clubs

There are four distinctive donor associations at Normandale Community College designed to honor excellence in giving. Gifts designated to operating, scholarships and special projects, are included.

  1. The Chairman's Club recognizes supporters of the college who have contributed a single gift of $5,000 during the year.
  2. The President's Club recognizes donors who have contributed a gift of $1,000 - $4,999 during the year.
  3. The Dean's Club recognizes donors who have contributed a gift of $500 - $999 during the year.
  4. The Honor Roll recognizes donors who have contributed a gift of $150 - $499 during the year.
