Purpose:  This procedure establishes standards, processes and conditions that enable consistent implementation of Normandale Community College Policy 8.3 Advisory Committees.

Subpart A: Program Advisory Committee
The Program Advisory Committee shall provide guidance and advice on initial development, accountability, expansion, and closure of the academic program.  The Program Advisory Committee may also provide recommendations and advice on curriculum, marketing, and program evaluation.

Subpart B: College Advisory Committee
The College Advisory Committee shall assume responsibility for promoting and securing support for college programs and services and for advising the president about ways in which programs and services can be responsive to the needs of students and to the service area, as well as other purposes as defined by the president.

Subpart A:  Each program advisory committee shall develop and document procedures, consistent with Normandale Community College Policy 8.3, that address each of the topics below.  Copies of these procedures should be made available to the division Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Subpart B:  The president shall develop and document procedures for the college advisory committee that are consistent with Normandale Community College Policy 8.3 and address each of the topics below.  Copies of these procedures should be made available to the campus community.

2. Membership, including students appointed in accordance with MnSCU Board Policy 2.3, size, roles, requisite knowledge and skills, and terms
3. Structure and governance
4. Meeting schedule
5. Work plan and priorities
6. Communications
7. Collaboration, if any
8. Recommendations and documentation
9. Evaluation

Subpart A:  Compliance with this policy shall be considered in a Dean’s annual evaluation, in those divisions that include program advisory committees.
