More About Us

Check out information about the Art Department:

The Art Department offers students thirty distinct art and art history courses to fulfill their liberal studies interests and for art majors to complete their degrees. The majority are offered at least once each academic year, with select courses offered every other academic year.

The Art Department consists of nine full-time and two part-time faculty members.  All studio faculty members have a Masters of Fine Art degree with a specialization in their main area of instruction.  Faculty members are active professionally with exhibitions and diverse community, regional and national art activities.

Normandale Community College's Fine Arts facilities allow for innovative approaches to teaching and learning in a variety of artistic disciplines.  The facilities encourage the exploration of a wide range of media, materials, and methods.  Students are exposed to both historic and contemporary approaches and theories of art and art making.
