Normandale Community College will honor more than 1,100 graduates in its 44th commencement ceremony at on Monday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Grace Church in Eden Prairie.
Over 300 graduates are expected to participate. The ceremony will honor Summer 2013 and Fall 2013 graduates, along with candidates for Spring 2014 graduation.The student speaker for the ceremony will be Sara Mcatee. Mcatee serves as a volunteer tutor for Westwood Elementary's Homework Connection and Math Counts program. She is the current Phi Theta Kappa Vice President of Fellowship for the Normandale Chapter, and has enjoyed being a keynote speaker for the Normandale Foundation.
Mcatee credits a Normandale Foundation scholarship as being the key to having helped start her journey at Normandale. She has earned her AA degree with an emphasis in Psychology and will continue to earn an AS degree in Special Education, eventually pursuing her degree in Forensic Psychology.

Other ceremony highlights include the announcement of Distinguished Faculty Award, remarks by Communication Instructor Rex Gaskill, and Chair of the Normandale Foundation Carolyn Pratt. The Music Ensemble will include Ticket to Brasil, who will perform samba, bossa nova and Brazilian jazz.
