Introduction to Criminal Justice

This course provides an overview of the criminal justice system. Topics include the historical development of law enforcement as well as an exploration of the components of the criminal justice system and the functions, jurisdictions, and interrelationships of various law enforcement agencies.  with emphasis on the United States criminal justice system.  This course meets specific Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Board learning objectives for pre-service law enforcement students.
