Normandale counselors will make every effort to accommodate your urgent needs. In the case you are unable to reach the Normandale Counseling Department 952-358-8261 or Public Safety 952-358-8280 or it is after hours, please consider the following options in case of emergency:

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to connect with someone live for free, available 24/7/365:
    - Phone option: 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
    - Chat option: suicidepreventionlifeline.org/chat. Start by filling out a brief survey. 
  • Crisis Text Line: Text MN to 741741
  • COPE - Community Outreach for Psychiatric Emergencies: 612-536-1223. This is the Hennepin County 24-hour crisis line; COPE will send out a professional to assess and determine if hospitalization is needed. For crisis lines in other counties, see crisis resources at our Student Resource Center.
  • The Trevor Project: information & support for LGBTQ youth, available 24/7/365:
