Professionally, I have a background in editing and technical writing within medical, financial, legal, and engineering fields.

As an instructor, I rely on my experiences in and outside of academia to help orient students toward the kind of writing, rhetoric, and analysis that is relevant both in the classroom and on the job. Whether or not students in my classes pursue a degree in English, the skills they learn apply to writing in many different environments including (but not limited to) business, medical, computer science, hospitality management, law enforcement, social work, psychology, history, and others.

I have a passion for graphic novels, comics, and pretty much anything to do with superheroes. My scholarship focuses mainly on medical rhetoric, male depression, feminism, gender, and plagiarism. In my spare time, I'm either fishing, reading, or pretending to play the bass guitar. Stop by and I'll happily discuss any of these topics with you.
