MacDonald Geography-Geology Department Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes a student who has demonstrated academic excellence and a particular interest in geography or geology at Normandale Community College, and pays the tuition for a geography or geology course to be taken in the Spring Semester. The scholarship is named after emeritus Normandale faculty member Doug MacDonald, who along with his wife Sharon generously funds this award each year.

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be enrolled as a student at Normandale during the Fall Semester
  • Intend to enroll in a Geography or Geology course at Normandale in the following Spring Semester
  • By the end of the Fall Semester, have completed at least one Geography or Geology course at Normandale with a grade of either A or B
  • By the end of the Fall Semester have successfully completed at least 12 but not more than 60 credit hours at Normandale
  • At the end of the Fall Semester, hold a cumulative grade point average at Normandale of at least 3.0
