STEM Camp 2018
Make It & Take It!
The summer STEM Camp, for girls in grades 5-9, combines fun and games from Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) with speakers and field trips.
The focus of the camp will be electronics, electrical engineering and software. Students, working with Jill Johnson (Electrical Engineer and Normandale Faculty), Debbie Shortreed (Practicing K-12 teacher), and multiple pre-service teachers from the Normandale Education program, will use the Normandale Maker Space to create projects. Students will learn about the design process while using the 3D printer, the vinyl cutter, and the laser engraver!
The camp experiences are intended to give the participants an opportunity to engage in the engineering design process and discuss careers in technology with those in the field. This is the 11th annual STEM Camp.
Camp Dates are Monday June 25 through Friday, June 29 and July 30 through August 3.
Monday through Thursday hours are 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including lunch and snacks, except for Friday, June 29th and August 3, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with Family Pizza Celebration luncheon at 11:30 a.m.
