Appointments for one-on-one help are available during the following times:

Hands-on workshops (RSVP to attend):
Wed, Aug. 14th - D2L Crash Course - 1 day workshop
This is for faculty who are new to D2L, but familiar with other online teaching platforms. You will come away with an overview of the basic tools for content, communication, and assessment, and a strategy for how you plan to use D2L in your course. (lunch provided)
- Learn the most commonly used tools in D2L for Content, Communication, Assessments
- Discuss design & delivery strategies for either a face-to-face or online course
- Start experimenting with the most commonly used tools
- Identify the main components and structure for your D2L environment
Mon, Aug. 19th- Reach Every Learner - student engagement strategies
This is for faculty who are familiar with D2L, and who want to enhance communication and engagement of students in the online environment.
Check your course for consistency of design & alignment of objectives.
Learn & Set up various tools such as:
- Turnitin for plagiarism checking and robust feedback tools for written work
- Discussion boards for group or individual discussion
- Release Conditions
- Intelligent Agents (email notifications)
- Zoom (web conferencing)Video content
- "Pulse" app for students
*Note: topics will be tailored to the needs of the participants, and will include a discussion of best practices and course-specific needs.

Professional Development Center (PDC)
The Professional Development Center (PDC) provides Normandale employees with services to help learn new technology skills, discover new ideas for creating engaging content, and use tools to be more efficient in your job. Small group and individual training takes place in this space located in the basement of the Library building (L1735).
