Art Instructor Sheryl McRoberts was one of two recipients of a 2016 McKnight Fellowship. The grants of $25,000 are awarded annually. The McKnight Artist Residencies for Ceramic Artists program recognizes and supports ceramic artists whose work demonstrates exceptional artistic merit, who have already proven their abilities, and are at a career stage that is beyond emerging. The McKnight Foundation's arts program is one of the oldest and largest of its kind in the country. Three individuals comprised the 2016 selection panel: Linda Arbuckle, studio potter and former professor at the University of Florida; Garth Clark, writer, gallerist, and Editor-in-Chief of CFile; and Catherine Futter, Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Each artist had to submit 10 digital images of their work, an image list, a current resume, an Artist Statement and two or three pieces of current work.
