Now You're Talking My Language: How to Pronounce Non-English Words When Speaking With Students
 
Monday, Feb. 29, 3-4pm, A 2552 - Activities Bldg.
 
FOR FACULTY AND STAFF ONLY. The Center for Teaching and Learning invites you to learn how to pronounce non-English words. Experts in language instruction will cover basic pronunciation guidelines.
Come learn to speak your students' languages a bit better - including American Sign Language. 
Snacks will be available.

Normandale Dental Hygiene Department presents
 
Free Dental Care and Cash!
 
Screening Appointments: Tuesday, March 1, 10am-4pm, S 2410 - Science Bldg.
 
Get paid $150 for free dental care and assist Normandale Dental Hygiene students to pass their clinical board exams. You may qualify if you have heavy tartar deposits on your teeth and it has been a long time since you have had a dental cleaning. Qualifying patients must be available for their cleaning appointment April 15-17 during clinical board exams.

Caitlin Skaalrud, graphic novelist/cartoonist and publisher
 
Tuesday, March 1, 1pm, P 0808 - Partnership Center
 
Skaalrud will read and present from her graphic novel Houses of the Holy as part of the Normandale Festival of Writing. Skaalrud, a graduate of Minneapolis College of Art and Design's comic art program, lives and works in the metro area.

FOR FACULTY AND STAFF ONLY. Join us to to explore the concept of Active Leadership and to hear lessons learned by our Keynote Speaker Liz Nead, a former community college student, during her adventure summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro.
 
Additional sessions to choose from throughout the day. Light breakfast served at 8am, Fine Arts Foyer.

Join us for a film screening and panel discussion with our very own Dr. Joyce Ester. This film tells the story of the courageous students, teachers and activists who led the nonviolent fight to win voting rights for African Americans in the South - one of the most significant victories in the civil rights era. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations requested.
