Normandale Theatre Department Continues to Host The Dining Room March 2-5

By Steven Geller - Director of Media and Public Relations

The Normandale Community College Theatre Department performance The Dining Room will continue to run on March 2-5 in the Black Box Theatre.

The performances are on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m. The ASL Interpreted show will take place on March 4.

The Dining Room is a thought-provoking play that revolves around an artifact slowly losing its importance in the American home - the dining room table. The action is comprised of a mosaic of interrelated scenes - some funny, some touching, some painful. The varied scenes are filled with identifiable characters of exceptional range, compassionate humor and abundant humanity - leaving us to question how we nurture those deepest human connections when things are moving so fast around us.

Adult admission is $10, while senior/staff/student tickets will be $5. Season tickets are available for a discount. Please call 952-358-8884 to make reservations or email at boxoffice@normandale.edu.

The following is a description of the final next performance of the 2015-16 academic year:

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee: Six spellers enter, one speller leaves, and the losers get a juice box! The Tony Award-winning musical comedy is the story of six young middle schoolers in the throes of puberty who learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. This hilarious tale of over-achievers' angst chronicles the experience of these adolescent outsiders as they (and a few lucky audience members) compete for the spelling championship of a lifetime.
