Dress for Success


Agency Description: Dress for Success Twin Cities empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrivein work and in life.  Dress for Success Twin Cities opened its doors in 2010 and is part of Dress for Success Worldwide, which has been in existence since 1997. There are 148 affiliates in the United States; we are in 26 countries and serve over a million women worldwide. Location: 1549 University Avenue W, Suite A, St. Paul, MN 55104 (Across from the Midway
Shopping Center at University Avenue and Snelling).

Position Descriptions:

Front Desk:   Support Dress for Success Twin Cities administratively by staffing the front desk. A great way to build administrative experience: answer phones, greet clients and volunteers, make clothing donation appointments and assist donors with their clothing drop-offs. Monday through Thursday daytime, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday shifts available.

Boutique Maintenance:
Boutique organizing tasks include duties such as straightening the display racks, placing new pieces onto the floor, resizing and color blocking existing clothing/accessories, and any other tasks that may help the boutique remain neat and tidy.

Image Coaching: Work one-on-one providing support and encouragement while you are assisting our clients inselecting professional attire in our boutique. Help them look their best and most professional for upcoming interviews, internships and career opportunities. Shifts generally last from 1-2 hours and take place during Tuesday and Wednesday daytime and evening as well as Saturdays 10am-2pm. Women volunteers only.

Career Center: Volunteer for appointments to help women with resumes and cover letter reviews and writing, mock interviewing & strategizing job searches. Men and women welcome.

All volunteers must meet 30 minutes before their first appointment for training during their volunteer shift. Volunteers need to track their own
hours and email the volunteer coordinator with dates/times served before the hours deadline so hours can be confirmed

Project requirements/qualifications:

              -   Be able to lift up to 25 pounds

              -   Feel comfortable reaching and putting clothing away via a step stool

              -   Be able to be on your feet for at least 2 hours

              -   Be able to move and bend
