Community Health Worker/Navigator Certificate

Become an Advocate for Others

Minnesota needs additional community health workers to do outreach and help educate others on the availability of health services, among other important tasks. This certificate will help get you there.

You’ll be prepared for a variety of entry-level healthcare employment opportunities. Your job may include:

  • increasing cultural competence,
  • improving access to health care for underserved communities,
  • coordinating care for chronically ill people,
  • and mapping community resources to improve the overall health of communities.

As a Community Health Worker-Navigator, you’ll play a critical role in bridging the gap between community, health care, government, and social service systems.

“The CHW program is a great opportunity to grow and learn to better serve – this program has so much value in the way we’re working with the health system to be better for our diverse communities."

Francisco Ramirez, ‘13, Engagement Manager at Fairview Health Services
