A moving, completely virtual Creating Futures event on October 20th celebrated the success of Normandale's students and alumni and invited supporters to give in support of the foundation's programs. Featuring current Normandale students, accomplished alumni like UnitedHealth Group's Cyrus Batheja, and Normandale leadership, we are proud to say that the event was a smashing success!
For the last several years, our foundation has focused on raising funds for a wide range of scholarships, enabling thousands of Normandale students to stay enrolled in college and achieve their goals. Under the college's long-range Advancement Division plan, we are broadening our focus and ways of work to include ending student hunger, developing and funding a mentorship program that matches alumni and other working professionals with Normandale students, and collaborating with the college to partially fund an initiative that prepares Black men to become K-12 teachers. With over 150 virtual attendees, the joyful 50-minute program helped our foundation reach its fundraising goal.We are deeply grateful to our foundation's Board of Directors, who came together to provide a $45,000 matching fund and reached out to their personal networks to share Normandale's mission. We encourage you to watch the program at the link above. To become a part of the Normandale story, click here to give now.
