In general, the conduct of students enrolled at Normandale Community College is governed by the Student Code of Conduct.
This code serves as the basis of the Library's Rules of Behavior, but specific rules have been added to ensure that library services, materials, and facilities are available to all.

Library users will NOT:
  • Bring food into the Library. Beverages in securely covered containers will be permitted.
  • Engage in disorderly conduct or activities which are unreasonably disturbing or offensive to library staff and/or users.
  • Remove or attempt to remove library materials or property without checking them out or obtaining the appropriate authorization.
  • Mutilate library materials or property by marking, underlining, removing pages or portion of pages, removing bindings, removing electronic security devices, or in any way injuring or defacing materials. (see Minn. Stat. 134.40 Sect. 609.541)
  • Use group study rooms without appropriate authorization.
  • Leave children unattended in the Library.
  • Use a cellular phone to make or receive calls.

Uncooperative violators of these rules will be asked to leave the Library. If deemed necessary, Campus Security Officers will be called for assistance in removing offenders from the Library.
Library faculty and staff members are authorized to interpret and apply these rules as the situation warrants.
