It is strongly recommended that new students schedule an appointment with Health Sciences Enrollment Manager Betty Blazer at 952-358-8417 or Health Sciences Program Liaison Jeremy McNamara at 952-358-8447. At this appointment, the Dental Hygiene Program Requirements Handout will be reviewed.

Admission Process for Dental Hygiene
NOTE: The completed dental hygiene application is to be submitted to the Health Science Enrollment Manager located in the Activities Center A2540 by December 31st of each year.
Double Application Process:
First, applicants who are new to Normandale must complete the Normandale general application form, include a $20 application fee, which can be paid online and or by check, payable to Normandale Community College submitted to the Office of Admissions.
Acceptance to the college does NOT imply acceptance to the Dental Hygiene Program.
Secondly, a SEPARATE Normandale Health Sciences Dental Hygiene Program application must be submitted to be considered for acceptance into the Dental Hygiene Program.
You get admitted to the college, then you apply for admission to the Dental Hygiene program.
A student must complete the minimum requirements outlined below to be considered as a qualified applicant.
A student must complete the minimum requirements outlined below to be considered as a qualified applicant. Admission to the dental hygiene program is competitive and it is to the student's advantage to apply with proven strength in science courses.
PSEO students must show proof of a high school diploma to start the program.
After the general Normandale application requirements are met:
A separate Normandale Health Sciences Dental Hygiene Program application must be submitted to be considered for acceptance into the dental hygiene program.
The completed application is to be submitted to the Health Science Enrollment Manager located in the Activities Center A2540 by December 31st of each year.
If the student earned credits in the fall semester:
Official transcripts with these fall grades must be submitted to the Enrollment Manager by January 15th to complete the application.
Application status notice:
All applicants will be notified of their application status for the dental hygiene program via US mail on or before April 30th of each year.
Alternate List Eligibility:
Applicants who are not accepted into the dental hygiene program and have met the application requirements will be placed on an alternate list.
Alternate List Students:
Applicants who are placed on the alternate list, but were not accepted into the program, will need to meet all the requirements and reapply for admission into the program the following year.
The following requirements must be completed before an application can be processed:
A grade of C or higher is required in each of these courses -

To increase their science rankings points on an application, students are strongly encouraged to complete this course during the first year of the dental hygiene program, continuation through the program is contingent upon completion of this course with a grade of C or higher.
