D2L Information for Students

For New students to the Normandale campus, your D2L Brightspace account may not have been created yet. If you have never registered for courses at Normandale, you will not be able to login to the D2L Brightspace site.  D2L Brightspace accounts are created based on three criteria.

1) you have registered for classes through the eServices portal or the Record's Office 
2) it is now 55 days prior to the semester start date  
3) your teacher has requested early access to their courses

Remember to first register for courses in eServices or through the campus Record's office. 

For Returning students to the campus, your Brightspace account may not have been updated yet.  D2L Brightspace accounts are updated 55 days prior to the semester start date. Remember to first register for courses in eServices or through the campus Records's office.

Note: If you previously took courses prior to Summer 2012, your D2L account is still based on your TechID credentials.  Once you register and the three above criteria are met, your D2L Brightspace account will be updated to your StarID credentials.

D2L Brightspace received an upgrade on June 6th.  You will find a new look and feel for Brightspace.  The learning environment has a cleaner interface, new fonts, updated icons, and some new workflows which mean that your courses will look more polished and modern than ever.  The new user interface, called the Daylight Experience, was built with a responsive design.  This means that it adapts to different screen sizes and looks great on laptops, tablets and smartphones.  You'll find it much easier to stay connected and access the system from anywhere.
