On Monday, August 13, Normandale Community College welcomed Iraqi journalism educators to campus to learn about best practices in curriculum design for journalism and media studies.
The educators visited the State of Minnesota as part of a two-week exchange tour that also has them visiting Washington D.C. and Boston. During their time in Minnesota, the educators also visited the University of Minnesota and University of St. Thomas. This is an opportunity for the Iraqi journalism educators to forge lasting connections with counterparts at U.S. journalism schools and organizations.
The program will also facilitate discussions between Iraqi university administrators and Minnesota of Higher Educator officials, and take away valuable skills to assist them in working together to reform journalism and media education system in Iraq.
