Link, The/Juvenile Supervision Center
Agency Description: The Link has two programs: The Juvenile Supervision Center (JSC) and The Evening Reporting Centers (ERC).
The Juvenile Supervision Center (JSC) provides an alternative response to the juvenile justice system for youth between the ages of 10 and 17 who have committed a low level or status offense, and helps to prevent youth from further involvement in the criminal justice system. Programming includes case management and case stabilization services. The facility is open 24x7 and is located at Minneapolis City Hall: Room 21A.
The Evening Reporting Centers (ERCs) are alternative to detention, community-based programs for males age 13 to 18 on probation in Hennepin County. The highly structured, group programing offers services designed to build assets in youth while providing positive activities during times that are highest for youth crime and victimization. Locations include Brooklyn Park and Richfield. Scheduling is available from 2pm-10pm Tuesday- Saturday.
At the Juvenile Supervision Center Interns can expect help youth complete the intake process, assist with data entry, and other tasks.
At the Evening Reporting Centers interns can expect to help facilitate groups, assist with numerous daily activities, and assist with case notes.
Both the JSC and ERC require a minimum commitment of 80 hours. Scheduling is flexible.
