Minnesota Dream Act

The MN Dream Act was signed into law by Governor Dayton on May 23, 2013 and will provide certain benefits to undocumented students. This page is an excellent summary of the criteria and benefits of this act.

Payment Plans at Normandale

Normandale offers Nelnet, which is a tuition management plan that provides students with a low cost option for budgeting tuition and fees.

Minnesota SELF Loan

Federal student loans, such as the Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loans are not available to undocumented students.

The Minnesota Office of Higher Education offers a loan program called the SELF Loan Program, which is available to citizens and non-citizens. There are Alternative Loan Programs that undocumented students can research for loan options. With the SELF or Alternative Loan Programs, you must have a credit-worthy cosigner who is a U.S. citizen.
